Full Job Description

This position primarily works Monday-Friday from 8am to 4:30pm, approximately 40 hours per week. This position also participates in a leadership on-call rotation which includes occasional weekend availability. The salary for this position starts at $65,000/year for little to no experience. Under the direction of the Director of Nursing and in collaboration with other members of the rehabilitation team, the Nurse Educator works to consistently ensure proper staff education in accordance with updated procedures and evidence-based practice, and leads and directs a robust team in the onboarding, initial training, and ongoing training of staff throughout the facility, including: * Maintaining current knowledge of federal, state and local regulations and ensuring that the facility leaders are informed of relevant issues. * Assists in education, monitoring and coaching the nursing staff on continuous quality improvement measures. * Assists in drafting, implementing, and updating nursing policies and procedures. * Provides hands-on education to nursing staff and other facility staff on a routine basis. * Performs monthly audits and oversight on nursing team skills. * Educates team members on new processes and equipment as needed. * Monitors compliance of nursing team members including online compliance learning, Mandatory Reporter, CPR, and Licensures. * Assists in screening of nursing candidates, including interview and hiring processes. * Meets with all new hires on the day of orientation with follow-up during first 90 days of employment. * Acts as secondary infection preventionist and provides assistance and back up to primary IP on an as needed basis. * Collaborate with other members of the nursing leadership team to provide support and coverage for other leaders as needed.
