Reporting to the Director of Patient Services, the Lead Coordinator, Nursing Clinical Operations provides operational, strategic, and administrative leadership in support of Nursing through the direction and coordination of the Office of the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO). The role provides oversight and direction to Nursing Clinical Operations leaders and supports the development and execution of the department's vision, goals, and strategic priorities, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives, policies, and regulatory requirements. Working collaboratively with Nursing Vice Presidents and other key stakeholders, this position coordinates strategic initiatives, oversees the implementation and evaluation of programs, and drives performance improvement efforts that enhance quality, efficiency, patient outcomes, and workforce effectiveness.Through effective leadership, collaboration, and data-driven decision-making, this role advances Nursing's strategic objectives and supports excellence in patient care delivery across the organization. EEO/AA/Disability/Veteran Responsibilities Represents inpatient nursing services and develops collaborative working relationships with administrators, physicians, and department leaders to support the department, thereby ensuring goals and objectives are met. Obtains data from hospital systems and creates administrative, operational, clinical, and financial reports as requested. Maintains in-depth knowledge of operations and functions as the inpatient nursing liaison within YNHH. Identifies and communicates opportunities for collaboration with other departments and medical staff. Participates in implementing strategic efforts by influencing physician leadership. Actively engages medical staff in departmental and organizational initiatives. Assists Nursing leadership with implementation and oversight of inpatient nursing projects, allocating resources and utilizing project management skills. Assists inpatient nursing under the direction of the office of the CNO with the development and implementation of strategic plans. Serves as a role model and leader for all inpatient nursing services. Responsible for ownership of ongoing projects supporting the department and special projects as requested. Provides project management expertise that is necessary to drive current initiatives, system designs, and implementation. Assumes all other duties as requested. Maintains oversight of data management and reporting for inpatient nursing services under the direction of the office of the CNO. Provides leadership, guidance, and direction to inpatient nursing leaders and staff for project and data management related to strategic planning, program development, and performance improvement initiatives Designs information systems to support data management of inpatient nursing service operations, initiatives, and outcomes. Monitors department dashboards to ensure operational metrics are met. Obtains data from various systems and creates administrative, operational, and clinical reports which provide overview of service line outcomes. Maintains administrative responsibility for the reporting department of Nursing data. Monitors national benchmarks and rankings; assists inpatient nursing with action plans to enhance programs. Service Excellence, Process Improvement, and Education. Identifies and analyzes trends in service excellence and ensures accountability for adherence to YNHH Service Excellence standards. Collaborates with leadership to direct resources and promote care within the service line. Provides vision and leadership in a collaborative environment which promotes job satisfaction, recognition, and stimulates innovative thinking to accomplish goals and objectives. Maintains an exceptional work environment through effective leadership, communication, supervision, and role modeling. Assists with the development and execution of inpatient nursing services, clinical, educational, administrative, and quality projects/programs. Utilizes process improvement methodologies and skills to develop and initiate department initiatives. Provides mentoring and coaching to nursing leaders and staff; mentors staff towards achievement of personal and professional goals Qualifications EDUCATION BSN or healthcare-related bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in nursing or a healthcare-related field preferred. EXPERIENCE Five (5) years of management or project management experience required, healthcare experience preferred. Knowledge of operations, logistics, and information management systems. LICENSURE Current RN license SPECIAL SKILLS Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to exercise creativity and initiative in making recommendations. Ability to work collaboratively and independently with demonstrated good judgment. Expertise in data collection and process improvement techniques. Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office products, dashboards, and hospital systems. Core Professional Requirements Microsoft Office proficiency and strong computer skills (required).
