We are currently seeking a dedicated Full-Time Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position is scheduled for 72 hours per pay period, working 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m., with an every-other-weekend rotation. As an RN at Carroll Lutheran Village, you’ll play an important role in delivering safe, compassionate, and high-quality nursing care while providing clinical leadership and support to your team. You’ll coordinate resident care, oversee nursing activities within assigned neighborhoods, collaborate with residents, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members, and help ensure each resident receives individualized care that supports their needs, dignity, and quality of life. What You’ll Do as a CLV RN: Maintain open communication across shifts, staff, residents, families, and physicians. Receive and deliver thorough shift reports; ensure accurate transfer of information. Serve as liaison among residents, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams. Communicate updates, policy changes, and procedures to staff as directed. Participate in meetings and act as a resource for problem-solving and care planning. Lead by example and support a collaborative team environment. Ensure staff adhere to job descriptions, facility policies, and regulatory requirements. Identify staff development needs and recommend training or corrective action. Assist with onboarding, staff evaluations, and performance feedback. Report incidents, staff issues, and changes in resident status to the DON/designee. Conduct daily rounds to assess resident conditions, staff performance, and environmental safety. Administer medications, implement care plans, and complete accurate documentation. Review physician orders, MARs, and TARs; ensure timely transcription and implementation. Coordinate care with the medical plan, therapy, and other departments. Evaluate effectiveness of care and update care plans accordingly. Promote positive guest relations and respond to concerns with professionalism and sensitivity. Support families through education, communication, and involvement in care decisions. Advocate for resident dignity, privacy, and quality of life. Support quality assurance initiatives and compliance with federal/state regulations. Participate in audits, reviews, and corrective action planning. Monitor supply usage and contribute to cost-effective practices. Attend mandatory in-services, training sessions, and professional development opportunities. Stay current with trends, regulations, and best practices in nursing care. Contribute to staff education and orientation as assigned. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications: What You’ll Need as a Registered Nurse: Education | Experience Graduate of a state-approved School of Nursing. Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Maryland. CPR certification required. 1–3+ years of clinical experience in geriatrics. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Demonstrated discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment in handling sensitive and confidential matters. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively and tactfully with individuals at all levels, including residents, staff, families, external vendors/authorities, and the public. Strong attention to detail in writing, proofreading, managing priorities, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment, demonstrating a cooperative, respectful, and compassionate approach to colleagues and resident care. Skilled in the use of standard office equipment and technology. Maintains professionalism, composure, and a positive attitude when managing challenging situations. Physically able to move throughout the workday and lift items up to 25 pounds using safe handling practices. May be necessary to assist with resident evacuation during emergency situations. Complies with organizational health and safety requirements, including vaccination policies or valid exemptions.
