About the Role The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides patient-centered nursing support in the outpatient clinic and/or procedure lab setting, working under the supervision of Registered Nurses and providers. This role supports patient intake, clinical procedures, medication administration within scope, and patient education to help ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality care. Key Responsibilities * Room patients, obtain and document vital signs, medical history, and other clinical information under RN or provider direction. * Administer medications and treatments within the LPN scope of practice and in accordance with provider orders. * Assist providers and RNs with clinic and/or procedural care, including patient preparation, positioning, and post-procedure support. * Provide patient education regarding medications, procedures, and follow-up care under RN or provider guidance. * Monitor patients for changes in condition and promptly report findings to the RN or provider. * Support wound care, dressing changes, and other clinical tasks within scope of practice. * Maintain accurate documentation of nursing care, patient communications, and clinical observations in the electronic medical record. * Assist with clinical supply management, room turnover, and equipment readiness. * Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA standards, safety policies, and practice procedures at all times. * Other duties as needed by the practice. Qualifications * Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing in the state of practice. * Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program. * Current BLS certification required. * Prior outpatient clinic, procedural, or ambulatory care experience preferred. * Strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under RN and provider direction. * Excellent communication and patient education skills. * Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively in a busy clinic or procedure lab setting. Work Environment and Schedule * Work is performed primarily in a professional outpatient healthcare clinic and/or procedure lab environment. * This role involves frequent interaction with patients, families or caregivers, RNs, providers, and administrative staff. * The position requires regular use of clinical and office equipment, including computers, phones, electronic medical record systems, and standard clinical equipment. * The role may involve exposure to standard healthcare conditions, including bloodborne pathogens, bodily fluids, medications, and infectious materials, and requires adherence to infection control, privacy, and safety policies. * Schedule is generally during regular business hours, with flexibility needed to support patient care schedules and occasional changes in workflow. * Regular, reliable attendance and punctuality are essential to support nursing coverage and patient care. Physical Requirements * Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, reach, and move throughout the clinic or procedure lab for extended periods while providing patient care. * Ability to use a computer, keyboard, mouse, telephone, electronic medical record system, and other standard clinical equipment throughout the workday. * Ability to communicate clearly in person, by phone, and in writing with patients, families, providers, and team members. * Ability to assist with patient positioning, transfers, and related patient care activities in accordance with safety guidelines. * Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull clinic supplies or equipment typically weighing up to 25 pounds. * Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the role.
