What You Will Do Outpatient RNs play an essential role in coordinating and delivering patient-centered care. Responsibilities may include: Rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, and accurately documenting in the electronic medical record. Reviewing and updating medication lists and patient information. Providing telephone triage and responding to patient clinical questions. Coordinating referrals, testing, prescriptions, and follow-up care. Reviewing patient results and communicating follow-up information as directed by providers. Providing patient education related to medications, testing, treatment plans, and home care. Obtaining consents and assisting with office-based procedures as directed. Performing pre-visit planning and reviewing quality metrics. Managing provider task lists and prioritizing patient needs based on urgency. Properly collecting, labeling, handling, and documenting patient specimens. Maintaining a clean, safe, and well-equipped patient care environment. Using the electronic medical record to communicate effectively with patients and members of the care team. Participating in team huddles, quality improvement initiatives, and other activities that support excellent patient care. Working collaboratively with colleagues across the care team to achieve positive patient outcomes. Performing other duties as assigned. What You Will Need Previous RN experience; triage experience preferred for applicable roles. Specialty experience may be preferred depending on the outpatient practice. Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required. Current, unencumbered NYS RN license. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. Strong communication, organization, and patient-care skills. Pay Range: $36.00 – $47.52 per hour Pay is based on experience and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may vary within the stated range based on location and other factors.
