A brief summary of what's ahead Location: Hutchinson Regional Medical Center Full Time Equivalent (FTE): 1 Job position summary: The Nursing Informatics Clinician is responsible for specific tasks associated with the implementation of application systems within the Healthcare System. The Nursing Informatics Clinician ensures that the system meets the functional requirements of the Healthcare System and serves as a communication intermediary with other departmental users during development and installation. Using a nursing perspective, the Nursing Informatics Clinician works closely with Information Services to ensure the clinical user requests are considered during the definition of functional requirements. This position has access to and knowledge of extremely sensitive, private and confidential materials. Ability to maintain the highest standard is required with zero tolerance. Be knowledgeable of the operation of the suite of clinical applications as new ones are installed and existing ones are upgraded. Assess the implications on nursing operations and processes of patient care delivery when assisting in resolution of departmental issues. Participate in development and testing of application functions. Design and train on use of clinical applications. Assist in live conversion plans for new and upgraded systems. Assist Information Services in screen modifications. Provide departmental support during all phases of implementation. Coordinate and participate in QA of the application functions. Assist in the development of user policies and procedures. Effectively demonstrate the mission, vision, and values of the medical center on a daily basis. Utilize all applications expertly. Provides support and structure for nursing resources. Performs other duties as assigned. MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED: Essential Technical/Motor Skills: Ability to read, write, type, and speak English.Have a working knowledge of the nursing process.Able to communicate, interpret, critically think using Nursing perspective.Ability to operate a computer and use critical thinking skills to troubleshoot computers applications. Experience: 5 years of experience in clinical setting. 2 years of experience with clinical information systems. Management experience helpful. Computer knowledge required.
