We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Director of Nursing (DON) to oversee the nursing department at a long-term care and rehabilitation center at Altoona Health & Rehab. Key Responsibilities: Provide leadership and direction to nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs. Develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and enhance patient safety. Oversee the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. Monitor patient outcomes and quality indicators, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing best practices. Mentor, guide, and support nursing staff to foster professional growth and development. Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and social workers to coordinate patient care and optimize health outcomes. Ensure adequate staffing levels and manage nursing schedules to meet patient care needs. Participate in performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and staff training initiatives. Serve as a liaison between staff, residents, and families to facilitate communication and resolve concerns effectively. Qualifications: Active RN license in good standing.
