Purpose: The RN is responsible for delivering quality patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: * Maintains patient confidentiality * Performs telephone triage as needed * Taking complete, accurate messages from patients and relaying them to appropriate physician * Collaborates and coordinates with business office staff to schedule patient appointments (includes office, outpatient procedures, hospitals, and other medical facilities) * Utilizes nursing process effectively in assessing patient needs and planning appropriate follow-up/intervention * Documents assessment and interventions thoroughly and concisely * Develops patient education materials, triage protocols, and clinical guidelines in collaboration with physicians * Uses computer system efficiently and accurately * Provides patient/staff education * Oversees LPN's and CMA/RMA * Performs specialty procedures as trained and as needed: * Peripheral IV therapy * IV Therapeutic phlebotomy * Lab draws as ordered * Access of implanted ports * Performs other duties and projects as assigned Other Duties: * Ordering medications and supplies * Patient education * Monitoring Infusion therapy * Ongoing assessment for potential reactions/side effects QUALIFICATIONS Required: * North Carolina or Compact RN license * Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing * BLS certification * ACLS certification ADA Physical Demands: Rarely (Less than .5 hrs/day) Occasionally (0.6 – 2.5 hrs/day) Frequently (2.6 – 5.5 hrs/day) Continuously (5.6 – 8.0 hrs/day) Physical Demand Required?
