Description Position Summary The Visiting Nurse Consultant provides project based support for strategic, operational, clinical, quality, regulatory, financial, and organizational initiatives for Cibola General Hospital. Working under the direction of hospital leadership and project sponsors, the Consultant contributes subject matter expertise, project coordination, analysis, implementation support, and process improvement recommendations to advance organizational goals. This role may support or lead portions of assigned projects and is responsible for performing all duties in compliance with organizational policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards. The Consultant is expected to attend and actively participate in meetings related to projects they support or lead, maintain accurate records of assigned work, and communicate effectively with stakeholders across the organization. Work schedules and hours are determined based on organizational needs and project requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Project Support and Coordination Support assigned projects, initiatives, and operational priorities across the organization. Assist in developing project plans, timelines, milestones, and deliverables. Conduct research, process assessments, workflow evaluations, and data gathering activities. Coordinate project tasks and follow-up activities assigned by project sponsors or leadership. Monitor progress of assigned workstreams and communicate status updates as requested. Assist with implementation activities, process improvement initiatives, and change management efforts. Prepare reports, presentations, summaries, and project documentation. Identify potential risks, barriers, and opportunities related to project success. Meeting Participation and Stakeholder Engagement Attend and actively participate in all meetings associated with assigned projects. Facilitate meetings when requested by project leadership. Coordinate follow-up activities and action items resulting from project meetings. Collaborate with physicians, leaders, clinical staff, support departments, and other stakeholders. Maintain productive working relationships across departments and disciplines. Provide timely updates regarding assigned responsibilities and project deliverables. Compliance and Regulatory Responsibilities Perform all duties in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, and professional standards. Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local healthcare regulations. Adhere to CMS, Joint Commission, HIPAA, and other applicable regulatory and accreditation requirements. Protect confidential patient, employee, business, and operational information. Report compliance concerns, safety issues, and regulatory risks through appropriate channels. Analysis and Performance Improvement Collect, organize, and analyze operational, financial, quality, and clinical data as assigned. Assist departments in identifying improvement opportunities and operational efficiencies. Support performance improvement and quality initiatives through data analysis and recommendations. Help establish, track, and report project outcomes and key performance indicators (KPIs). Document findings and communicate recommendations to project sponsors and stakeholders. Documentation and Reporting Maintain complete and accurate records of assigned work and project activities. Submit reports and project deliverables within established deadlines. Document meeting participation, action items, and progress updates. Assist with preparation of project summaries and final reports. Requirements Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, Public Health, Finance, Information Technology, Project Management, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Three (3) or more years of experience in healthcare operations, project coordination, consulting, quality improvement, clinical operations, business operations, or a related field. Experience supporting projects in a healthcare or hospital environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Strong written, verbal, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments simultaneously. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a critical access rural hospital setting. Project management experience. Experience with regulatory compliance, accreditation readiness, operational improvement, or strategic initiatives. Professional certifications such as: Project Management Professional (PMP) Lean Six Sigma Certification Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) Relevant healthcare, operational, or quality certifications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of healthcare operations and hospital workflows. Understanding of healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and compliance requirements. Strong organizational and project coordination skills. Ability to gather, analyze, and interpret data. Effective communication and presentation skills. Ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships. Strong attention to detail and follow-through. Ability to manage competing priorities while meeting deadlines. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment. Work Schedule As needed position with hours worked based on project needs and organizational priorities. Schedule may vary and may include occasional evenings or attendance at meetings outside normal business hours. All hours worked must be accurately recorded and approved in accordance with organizational timekeeping policies. Overtime, if applicable, must be approved in advance by the designated supervisor. Work Environment Work is performed in an acute care hospital environment, administrative offices, and approved remote work locations as authorized. Frequent interaction with hospital leadership, physicians, clinicians, team members, and external stakeholders. May require travel between hospital locations and affiliated facilities. Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use computer equipment for extended periods. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to occasionally lift and carry materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
