Full Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Med Surg RN to join our healthcare team. The Med Surg Registered Nurse will provide direct patient care in an acute-care hospital environment, including patient assessment, medication administration, IV therapy, clinical documentation, care coordination, patient education, and monitoring of patients throughout their treatment and recovery. Registered Nurse Responsibilities As a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (Med Surg RN), you will: Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, medical histories, and ongoing evaluation of patient conditions. Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans based on patient needs and clinical findings. Administer medications, injections, IV medications, and IV infusions according to physician orders and hospital protocols. Monitor patient conditions and promptly communicate significant clinical changes to physicians and the interdisciplinary care team. Document assessments, interventions, medications, and patient responses accurately using Electronic Medical Record (EMR/EHR) systems. Assist with procedures including catheterization, tube feeding, sterile dressing changes, wound care, and other bedside nursing procedures. Maintain infection-control standards and appropriate aseptic and sterile techniques. Coordinate with physicians, nurses, case managers, therapists, and other healthcare professionals regarding treatment and discharge planning. Provide patient and family education regarding medications, post-operative care, pain management, discharge instructions, and recovery. Respond appropriately to emergency situations and changes in patient condition. Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care while maintaining patient privacy and HIPAA compliance. Med Surg RN Qualifications Qualified candidates should have: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license as required by the assignment state. Previous Medical Surgical / Med Surg RN experience in an acute-care hospital or comparable clinical setting. Strong patient assessment and medication-administration skills. Experience with IV therapy, medication management, wound care, and patient monitoring. Experience using EMR/EHR systems, including systems such as Epic or Cerner. Knowledge of infection prevention, patient safety, and HIPAA requirements. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Strong communication, clinical judgment, and patient-education skills.
