Position Summary The Director, Clinical Compliance is responsible for leading and overseeing the organization's clinical compliance program with a primary focus on Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance, and enterprise-wide quality management initiatives. This role ensures adherence to all applicable federal, state, accreditation, accessibility, and regulatory requirements while driving continuous quality improvement through the development, monitoring, and reporting of quality key performance indicators (KPIs). The Director serves as a strategic partner to clinical, laboratory, operational, and executive leadership to foster a culture of compliance, patient safety, regulatory readiness, and operational excellence. This role is ideal for a clinically trained compliance leader who can integrate regulatory oversight, laboratory compliance, workplace safety, and quality performance management into a comprehensive enterprise compliance and quality framework. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Regulatory Compliance Leadership Lead and maintain the organization's CLIA compliance program across laboratory operations. Ensure ongoing compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laboratory regulations and standards. Monitor regulatory changes and assess organizational impact. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and controls to support regulatory compliance. Coordinate and lead internal compliance reviews and mock regulatory inspections. Serve as a primary liaison during regulatory surveys, audits, and inspections. OSHA and Safety Compliance Oversee OSHA compliance programs, including workplace safety, exposure control, bloodborne pathogens, hazardous materials handling, and employee safety initiatives. Conduct risk assessments and identify opportunities to reduce workplace safety incidents. Partner with Human Resources, Clinical Operations, and laboratory leadership to ensure compliance with employee health and safety requirements. Lead investigations related to safety events, corrective actions, and preventive measures. Quality Management and Performance Improvement Direct the organization's clinical quality management program. Establish, monitor, and report quality KPIs, dashboards, and performance metrics. Analyze quality, compliance, and operational data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Lead root cause analyses (RCA), corrective action/preventive action (CAPA) initiatives, and continuous improvement projects. Ensure quality indicators align with organizational goals, patient safety objectives, and regulatory requirements. Partner with operational leaders to improve quality outcomes and operational performance. Audit and Risk Management Develop and execute compliance audit plans for clinical and laboratory operations. Assess organizational risks related to regulatory compliance and quality management. Monitor corrective action plans and ensure timely resolution of identified deficiencies. Prepare executive-level reports regarding compliance risks, audit results, and quality performance. Conduct periodic assessments and audits of ADA-related practices, accessibility standards, accommodation processes, and disability-related compliance controls. Identify and mitigate risks associated with accessibility barriers, accommodation requests, and disability discrimination concerns. Monitor corrective action plans related to ADA findings and ensure timely resolution of identified deficiencies. Education and Training Develop compliance and quality training programs for clinical and laboratory staff. Educate leaders and employees regarding CLIA, OSHA, quality standards, and regulatory expectations. Promote a culture of accountability, compliance, patient safety, and quality improvement. Develop and deliver ADA compliance and accessibility awareness training for leaders and employees. Educate managers regarding reasonable accommodation obligations, interactive process requirements, and disability-related compliance expectations. Leadership and Collaboration Provide leadership and mentorship to compliance and risk management personnel. Collaborate with operations leaders, risk manager, physicians and providers, and Executive Leadership. Participate in strategic planning initiatives related to quality, accreditation, compliance, and patient safety. Support organizational accreditation and certification activities. Licensing & Permit Management Ensure all facility-related licenses, certifications, and permits remain active, current, and in full compliance with applicable regulations. Manage the preparation, submission, renewal, and maintenance of the following licenses, permits, registrations, and certifications (including, but not limited to), in collaboration with Operations. CLIA Licenses State Laboratory Licenses Board of Barbering & Cosmetology Facility Licenses Environmental Health Permits, including EPA and Hazardous Materials Permits Radiology Permits / Laser Licenses Build tracking system to track regulatory deadlines and maintain a centralized repository QualificationsQualifications Required Education Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Clinical Sciences, Public Health, or a related field. Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing. Preferred Education Master's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business Administration, or related discipline. Required Experience Minimum 7-10 years of progressive healthcare compliance, quality, laboratory, or regulatory experience. Minimum 3-5 years of leadership experience in compliance, quality, risk management, or laboratory operations. Demonstrated experience managing CLIA compliance programs. Demonstrated experience overseeing OSHA compliance and workplace safety initiatives. Experience developing and managing quality metrics and KPI programs. Experience supporting regulatory inspections, audits, and accreditation activities. Prior experience in a healthcare outpatient setting, including physician offices or medical practices. Preferred Experience Experience within diagnostic laboratory, reference laboratory, ambulatory care, physician services, or healthcare services environments.
