Adelphi is seeking a Registered Nurse or Licensed School Nurse to provide on-site nursing services to students in Kindergarten through Grade 8 at a public school in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive school health services, including assessment, medication administration, chronic condition management, emergency response, health screenings, and student health record management. Job Quick Facts • Job : BD-1483-01 • Profession: Nurse • Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) / Licensed School Nurse (LSN) • Location: Washington, DC • Facility Type: School • Job Type: Contract • Shift Schedule: On-site during school hours; specific schedule TBD • Rate: $35 - $45/hr Requirements: • Active, unrestricted RN or applicable school nurse licensure • Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification • Ability to administer medications and emergency medications in accordance with applicable laws, school policies, and physician orders • Ability to develop and manage Individualized Health Plans (IHPs) and Emergency Care Plans (ECPs) • Knowledge of student health, immunization, screening, emergency response, and documentation requirements • Ability to maintain all required licenses and certifications throughout the assignment Responsibilities: • Provide on-site school nursing services, including assessment, treatment, first aid, and documentation of student illnesses and injuries. • Administer prescription, over-the-counter, and emergency medications and maintain accurate medication records and required authorizations. • Develop and maintain individualized health and emergency care plans for students with chronic or complex medical conditions. • Conduct required health screenings, maintain immunization and confidential student health records, and coordinate referrals and follow-up care. • Serve as the primary medical responder during school emergencies and coordinate with parents/guardians, school staff, healthcare providers, and emergency medical services as appropriate. • Support communicable disease prevention, infection control, health education, staff training, and other student health and wellness activities as assigned.
